Perkallen lost her home due to divorce troubles of her owners, and I paid her by rearing her daughter.  A Bavarian warmblood breeder also was interested in Perkallen and intended to mate her to a Holstein stallion - which, of course, made my Trakehner heart bleed ... So I took her to my barn and I have never regretted that decision.

Her sire Maquisard xx was discovered by great horseman Gottfried Hoogen.  The black stallion was a nine-time race winner in six hurdle racing seasons, 15 placements complete his record.  His offspring was characterized by extraordinary talent for jumping and good type.  The Trakehners approved his son Strawinsky and entered 20 daughters into their stud book, of whom Perkallen is among the most gifted movers.

Perkallen's dam Peru is one of the most valuable broodmares of modern Trakehner breeding.  Mated to long-term Schralling stallion Kassius she foaled Perka, granddam of approved international dressage stallion Peron Junior by Sixtus.  Mated to legendary Mahagoni, she foaled approved Peron, who became an Olympic medalist for the US.  Mated to Heuriger, Peru foaled Prinzess Peru, who was successfully showed to preliminary dressage tests and just debuted as broodmare.

Perkallen left some attractive offspring in our barn:
Penelope by Heartbreaker
Penny Lane by Heartbreaker
Prime Time by Cadeau

Meanwhile Perkallen belongs to the Polapin stud in Poland, where in 2009 she gave birth to a colt by the Angloarab Saganek AA.  Saganek himself was successful in show jumping competitions (up to 1.60 m), and his little son was choosen to be vice champion of the Polish Trakehner Foal Championships in Allenstein
